Why do I need new skills?

Because the commercial environment in which we all work is changing  fast, and to remain competitive all businesses must understand where they fit in and how to maximise on opportunities created by emerging technology.

I am not technically inclined, will I struggle with social media?

Like all new skills, they seem strange at first. Our training is devised to make the process logical and simple to understand. We also offer outstanding ongoing advice and support.

Why is social media important for my business?

Today’s savvy consumer uses the Internet to research long before making a buying decision. If your company is not found during that process, and seen to be endorsed by others, it is highly unlikely they will consider you when the time comes to make their purchase.

Why Facebook, I thought that was just for sharing personal stuff?

Facebook has long been amongst the top 3 search facilities used to research companies. With 50% of the population spending an average of 20 mins a day on there, it provides a fantastic opportunity for you to target your specific audience.

If I haven't got a Business Plan can I still attend your courses?

Yes. Many businesses do not have a formal plan, or are not following the original one. Our training will help you to refocus your planning generally, to give your marketing structure and purpose.

How will I know what to say online?

The social media training will equip you with the knowledge and tools required to help you create interesting, informative content, to engage your audience and keep them coming back for more.

I don’t have time for social media, can I just get someone else to do it?

Of course, and there are many businesses who can help you. However, by attending our training you will get a sound understanding of exactly what is possible and how best to achieve it; enabling you to fully brief a company of your requirements.

My website isn't bringing me in much business, so what is the point of spending more time and effort online?
Most websites are underperforming. Our training programme will cover what is needed to make your website effective in turning visitors in to leads.
I don't have a brand, does this matter?
All businesses have a brand, either by design or by accident. Your brand is how you are seen by others. Their perceptions grow as they see your social media posts, visit your  website, or engage with you in some way offline. The important thing is to make sure that those impressions are positive ones, and reflect how you want to be seen.
It social media advertising expensive?

Advertising on social media can only be productive when everything else is in place; your marketing strategy, brand, website and the service or product you offer. Then the analytics available on each of the social media platforms will give you real facts about your target audience and a guide to how much it might cost to engage with them. A fully informed and targeted campaign is not only inexpensive, but guaranteed to bring significantly better results than offline advertising. It can also be monitored, measured and evaluated for ROSI (return on social investment.) You are therefore in total control of your budget.

I want to do my own social media, but just don’t think I will have the time, how long should I spend on it each day?

Part of your training will be to establish a content calendar to plan ahead and focus on the needs of your customer. There are also lots of online tools to help you streamline the process, keeping time spent down to a minimum of 30 – 45 minutes daily.

Am I eligible for funded Business Skills Training?

If you are an employee of a Limited Company, and match the criteria listed below then yes you are eligible to be funded to attend Level 3 Diploma in Business Innovation and Growth Through Social Media and Entrepreneurial Skills requires you. Funding for Social Media Levels 2 & 3 is dependent on the specific funding streams that are available at the time. Alternatively you could take advantage of the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. Please contact us with details of where you live.

If you are a Sole Trader wishing to attend Level 3 Diploma in Business Innovation and Growth Through Social Media and Entrepreneurial Skills, you can still do so either by paying privately or using the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Be over 16 years old
2. Be legally resident in the UK, have the right to work and been living in the UK/EU for at least
3 years prior to starting the programme
4. Be employed for a minimum of 16 hours a week
5. Be employed in a new role or require significant additional training for the job role that they started
in the last 12 months
6. Not hold a degree level qualification or existing qualifications at the same of higher level than that proposed for
their Apprenticeship programme
7. Have an Apprenticeship Agreement or Contract of Employment with their Employer
8. Learners must complete all aspects of the approved Apprenticeship Framework including Functional
Skills in English, Maths and ICT where required and existing qualifications are not held by the learner.

How long do the courses run for?

Level 3 Diploma Enterprise Course runs over 12 months and is delivered over fortnightly 3 hour sessions, together with some weekends quarterly and an hour’s 1-1 via Skype of phone monthly. You will also have homework, which will generally be actioning your learning for each month. Social Media Levels 2 & 3 runs over 11 weeks, 3 hours a week, generally delivered from 4.00 p. m. – 7.00 p. m..

Can I attend the Enterprise Course if I am a Sole Trader?

Yes, you can apply for the 24+ Adult Advance Learning Loan or pay for the course privately.

How can I attend a Social Media Marketing course if there is no funding?

You can either apply for the 24+ Adult Advance Learning Loan or pay for the course privately.

How much do the courses cost?

If you are not an employee of a Limited Company the the Sfedi Level 3 Diploma in Business Innovation and Growth Through Social Media and Entrepreneurial Skills costs £2,573, and can either be paid for privately or using the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan the cost will be £2,573.

However employees of a Limited Company are fully funded by the government Apprenticeship scheme and therefore it is free.

Sfedi Award Level 2 in the Promotion of Goods & Services using Social Media and Level 3 in the Principles of Social Media Advertising and Promotions Level 3 Certificate In Social Media Advertising and Promotion are delivered as a combined qualification, each costing £724.00 each therefore £1,448.00 in total.

Opportunities Workshop are working to secure course funding in all areas, however where there is so far no funding available, you can pay privately for Level 2 and make use of the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan for Level 3.

What are the Assessment Methods?

  • Professional Discussion.

Funding is available for Enterprise Skills Training in all areas for anyone who is an employee of a Limited Company. Those wishing to attend who are Sole Traders, may do so either by paying privately or using the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan accessed via Opportunity Workshops. Funding for the Social Media Marketing courses varies depending on location, so please register your interest with us now and we will check eligibility.
